Teleprompter — Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing about you. Teleprompter is a script prompter and camera recording app built to be private by design. It has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email, phone, or any personal identifier. We do not run servers that receive your scripts or recordings, and we do not use any third-party SDKs for tracking, advertising, or analytics.

What stays on your device

The following is stored only on your device (in iOS UserDefaults and the app's local files) and is never transmitted to us:

• Scripts you write, paste, or import (txt, md, rtf, pdf, docx, html)
• Videos you record — saved directly to your Photos library
• Scroll speed, text size, colors, themes, and other preferences

If you delete the app, this data (except videos already saved to Photos) is removed from your device. If you enable iCloud device backup, Apple may include this data in your encrypted backup under Apple's own privacy terms — it is never sent to us.

Camera, microphone, and speech recognition

Teleprompter asks for the following iOS permissions, each used only on your device:

• Camera and microphone — to record your videos. Recordings are saved to your Photos library and never leave your device through us.
• Speech recognition — for optional voice commands ("start" / "stop"). Recognition runs on-device using Apple's offline speech engine; your voice is not sent to our servers, and we keep no transcripts.
• Photos (add only) — to save finished recordings to your library. The app cannot read your existing photos.

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

Files you import

When you import a script through the iOS Files picker (iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, Google Drive, or any other provider), the file is read once and its text is stored locally in the app. The connection to your cloud provider is handled by iOS and that provider under their own privacy policies — Teleprompter does not proxy, log, or receive any of it.

In-app purchases

Teleprompter offers auto-renewable subscriptions through the Apple App Store. We do not receive your payment information — Apple handles all billing. We only receive a confirmation from Apple that you are entitled to the paid content. Apple's handling of that information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

What we do NOT collect

Teleprompter does not collect:

• Your name, email, phone, or any personal identifiers
• Your location
• Your contacts, health data, or browsing history
• Your recordings, scripts, or voice — they never leave your device through us
• Behavioral tracking data
• Third-party advertising or analytics identifiers

Your rights (GDPR, for EU users)

Because Teleprompter does not collect or store personal data on our side, there is no personal profile for us to access, export, or delete. If you have any question about your data, contact kamil@kumu-studio.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Teleprompter is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the Effective date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will also be reflected in a new app release.
