Short version: Your footage never leaves your iPhone. Dashcam has no accounts and no servers that receive your data, and it uses no tracking, advertising, or analytics SDKs. Video, audio, GPS, and trip data are stored only on your device.
Nothing about you on our side. Dashcam is a drive recorder built to be private by design. It has no login and does not ask for your name, email, phone, or any personal identifier. We do not run servers that receive your recordings or location, and we do not use any third-party SDKs for tracking, advertising, or analytics.
The following is created and stored only on your device (in the app's local storage and iOS UserDefaults) and is never transmitted to us:
If you delete the app, this data is removed from your device. If you enable iCloud device backup, Apple may include app data in your encrypted backup under Apple's own privacy terms — it is never sent to us.
Dashcam uses the camera to record video of your drive, and the microphone only if you turn on audio recording. This footage is written to files on your device to create the dashcam recording. It is not streamed, uploaded, or sent to us or anyone else.
With your permission, Dashcam uses your location to stamp GPS coordinates and speed onto your footage and to power the built-in turn-by-turn navigation. Location is processed on your device. When you enter a destination for navigation, your search text and coordinates are sent to Apple Maps (MapKit) to calculate the route — this is handled under Apple's Privacy Policy. We never receive your location or destinations.
Dashcam reads the device's accelerometer / motion data on your device to detect a collision or hard braking and automatically lock (save) the incident clip. This happens entirely on your device and is not transmitted.
Dashcam requests add-only access to your photo library only when you choose to export a saved clip to Photos. It does not read your existing photos.
Dashcam is offered as an auto-renewable subscription through the Apple App Store. We do not receive your payment information — Apple handles all billing. We only receive a confirmation from Apple that you are entitled to the paid content. Apple's handling of that information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Dashcam does not collect or transmit:
Because Dashcam does not collect or store any personal data on our side, there is no personal profile for us to access, export, or delete. Any data the app creates lives only on your device and can be removed by deleting the app. If you have any question about your data, contact kamil@kumu-studio.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Dashcam is intended for drivers and a general audience. Because we collect no data, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
If we change this policy, we will update the Effective date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will also be reflected in a new app release.
